Luiz assists companies with structuring tax matters in public and private M&A transactions and intra-group corporate reorganizations, with a particular focus on the infrastructure sector. He also assists in litigation involving transfer pricing matters.
A member of the International Tax Committee Section of International Law of the American Bar Association (ABA), Luiz is also a counsel to the Brazilian Association of Financial Law (ABDF) and a member of the Tax Committee of the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain.

Mattos Filho and Gaia Silva behind cancer treatment partnership in Brazil
Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados has helped private medical group Oncoclínicas do Brasil sell a minority stake in a radiotherapy subsidiary to healthcare company Unimed.
The buyer, including its subsidiaries, hired Gaia, Silva, Gaede & Associados Advocacia, for the deal, which closed on 31 March. No value was disclosed.
